An ‘enlightening’ musical offering by renowned vocalist Vidushi Anurita Rai along with her younger brother and budding singer Anuratna Rai followed next. Beginning with a composition on life’s elixir, Sohum, as propagated by Bhagawan, number next was another special one  from Anuratna  in Rag Kalyan on the twelve jyotir lingas singing ‘Bhajare Mana Sai Ram…’. Look for Sai within, no need to wander around outside in search of Him, reflected Anurita, presenting their next thematic number ‘Jo Jaane Hey Nij Ko To Jaana Kaha Hey…’. that ended with a thrilling final number ‘Mera Bichda Yaar Milade…‘.

An apt Prasanthi evening that turned out to be a rare musical feast with pearls of wisdom for those eager ‘souls’, tuned in from the depth of their ‘inquiring hearts’, inquiring into the goal of life. The evening surely had vital pointers for them, served through the medium of music. The sister-brother duo continues the legacy of their venerable father Acharya Pandit Anupam Rai, a legendary name from the field of Hindustani music. This evening they were accompanied by Pt Vijay Chandra on Keyboard and Anup Chandra on Tabala.

Bhajans next concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.

Presenting their first offering today, a group of musical talents from Uttar Pradesh delivered an Indo-Western Fusion Concert this evening at the Sanctum Sanctorum, feasting Bhagawan’s immediate Divine OmniPresence.

The session commenced with an address by the State President Of SSSSO, Uttarakhand, Dr. Kishori Lal who briefed the service activities in the State, especially in 7 out of 13 districts of Uttarakhand. Sai Love In Action heeding the call of the needy and desperate, braving the oddities of nature formed the theme of his short speech. Expressing deep ‘heartfelt’ gratitude to Bhagawan, Dr. Kishori Lal also affirmed that though the states are divided for administrative reasons, they will continue to be united for annual Prasanthi Seva and  Parthi Yatras in future.

Pt. Vijay Chandra and his team of musicians from UP then presented an Indo-Western Fusion Instrumental Concert, based on Raag Puriya Dhanashri. As if taking a cue from Bhagawan’s famed maxim ‘Unity In Diversity’, in love with music sans borders,  the foursome ran through the session next engaging their magical fingers, producing a musical session of ‘East meeting West. A vocal solo by Rag Aman beseeching Bhagawan for ‘His Darshan’ singing “Sai Dikhejo Tumkho Muchko Batha Dena…” was apt for the occasion, enough to stir the hearts many present in the august evening. Pt. Vijay Chandra on Keyboard was ably supported by Sarvasree Anup Banerjee on Tabala, Sanjay Kumar, an alumnus of SSSIHL, on Mandolin, Rag Aman on Keyboard and Vocal.

Bhajans continued and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.

Continuing with the sacred tradition the music fraternity of ‘freshening up’ talents at Sathya Sai Mirpuri College, SSSIHL – Dept of Music presented soulful musical offering, singing a string of devotionals supported by intermittent ‘awakening’ commentary at the Sanctum Sanctorum this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam.  Titled ‘Sai Swaranjali’, the offering began with a Saint Purandaradasa composition propitiating Lord Ganesha, set in Rag Hamsadhwani, Adi Talam. Voyage of man on earth in simplest terms, suffused with greatest wisdom, was the forte of Sant Kabirdas’s compositions. The next piece was a Kabir doha in four parts, set in for different ragas, packed with wisdom galore for the earnest ones. Not hiding their entreaties unto Bhagawan, to be worthy of His Love, they next presented a Sant Tulsidas composition hailing his Master as Garib Nawas, patron of the poor and downtrodden, praying for His mercy. A Hindustani Khyal followed next Deenan Ke Dukhhari Sai Mere in Rag Marwa…, a composition on Bhagawan entreating The Lord to grant Divine Darshan. Annamayacharya who was popularly known as ‘Keerthanacharya’ sung in devotional ecstasy many a compositios on his chosen deity, The Lord of sacred Tirumala shrine in Tirupathi. The concluding piece was one of Annamacharya compositions “Adivo Alladivo…”, serenading Lord Venkateshwara Sai.

Sri Sathya Sai Mirpuri College Of Music came into being on 20 November 2000, Divinely launched by Bhagawan.

Commencing the programme series this evening Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas from EG took out an impressive rally, commemorative of the golden jubilee year of Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas. The rally was symbolic of the sacred culture and traditions of East Godavari, displaying ‘Godavari Mata’, The Five Elements and Nature, Saints of India, the Pandari Bhajans, prominent personalities, staunch devotees and village deities from the region to conclude with a display on the Unity Of Faiths. Bhagawan’s sacred biography speaks about  Pandari Bhajans, sacred devotional singing as promoted by young Sathya then, decades ago during His ‘moulding’ years, collecting His confidants in and around Parthi. Reliving the unmatched spirit of the innovative bhajan style, BV children showcased a couple of Pandari Bhajan models as part of the rally, dancing merrily to the tunes of Prasanthi Bhajans.

East Godavari has fondest memories of her Lord, Who during those ‘golden days’ moved through the district, blessing countless souls. A series of dance presentations next formed the theme of this unique unparalleled blessings. Prof. Jandyala Suman Babu’s lucid, detailed commentary in Telugu was enough to rekindle the ‘golden’ memories, transmuting the evening into an offering of Love n’  Gratitude. As the dancing stories flowed on, many prominent names featured this evening, that of Godavari Maa, the River who seems to cherish awaiting her Lord incessantly, Swami Karunyananda, Vedic Pundit Kamavadhani, Madhavananda Swami from the Himalayas, Veeraswami Naidu to name a few. Thousands from East Godavari joined the Yatra, travelling the distance to Puttaparthi, enjoining their hearts to tune to The Supreme Master, joining a unique journey down their memory lane, with Sri Sathya Sai, Unto Sri Sathya Sai. An attempt was made to describe ‘The Most Indescribable’  and they aptly concluded singing “Maa Swami Charanaluku Neeranjanam”, offering lighted lamps symbolic of their heart of love.

Bhajans by the Parthi Yatra contingent continued and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.

Earlier in the morning, displaying gesture of devotional allegiance to Beloved Bhagawan, devotees en masse joined in a holy procession of circumambulation,  carrying the holy Sri Sathya Sai Likhita Japam books around the sacrosanct Prasanthi Mandir precincts.

World is a big stage and we have greater lessons to learn watching it. With Bhagawan, one has to be on a constant watch, as every moment is counted and if one is focused, he will have lessons galore to learn and imbibe.

After a momentous Thursday, the day when Bhagawan decided to bless the University Campus in Prasanthi Nilayam with His Divine visit, came a pleasant Friday. Though summer’s clutch was loosened, it has not left the spiritual township completely and the day’s weather was a mix and by the time for evening Darshan, it turned cool again with ominous signs of imminent rains.

Bhagawan came out just after 1630 hrs. before coming onstage for a brief spell, watching and blessing the students chanting Vedam. Bhajans started at the scheduled 1700 hrs. and Bhagawan came on stage once again. …And following Him came the rainy showers lashing from the heavens as if the mythical ‘Rain God’ was waiting for the Over Lord to come and decorate His dais. Lashing rains with strong winds splashed the rainy drops all around bringing in renewed natural freshness all over. With Bhagawan on stage granting static Darshan, with mellifluous bhajans on, hundreds of devotees outside the main gate next to the Sita-Rama statue got stranded in the lashing rains, leaving them completely drenched.

Bhagawan, The Silent Witness He Is ever, was waiting as He had something to demonstrate, a unique visiting card of His Love and Compassion. Even as the bhajans continued, He was glued to the main gate watching the hundreds getting ‘drenched’. For the onlookers, it was something uniquely strange, that He was physically focused on His devotees, watching the rainy celebration. Who would know what was happening inside of Him, as from inside ‘out’ Bhagawan was bathing them in His indefinable Gaze Of Love!

Sevadal volunteers were  disciplined enough to maintain ‘peace’, especially with Bhagawan onstage, watching the melee. Lord AlMighty He Is, and His Heart Is nothing but Love n’ Compassion, it was time for action!

Bhagawan soon sent word to the security to break the cordon, allowing the stranded devotees inside to occupy the vacant area near the Sita-Rama statue. The Prasanthi Nilayam Security, being conventional following the ‘laid’ discipline in letter and spirit, allowed the gents in,  leaving the ladies out. In Prasanthi Nilayam, as a matter of customary discipline, gents and ladies are not allowed to mix-up in the Darshan hall. Watching this security ‘drama’, Bhagawan sent special instructions ‘to break the deep cordon’, allowing the devout ladies in, allowing them to occupy one side of the vacant spot! Action done and lessons imparted, leaving the onlookers to take the best out of the ‘drama’.

Bhajans went on till 1750 hrs. when Bhagawan indicated for Mangala Arathi. Post the Arathi Bhagawan’s compassionate loving gaze continued to shower on the special group,  who are the recipients of a special  ‘rain-packed-blessing’ from the Lord Supreme in His earthly Abode, right outside His Sanctum Sanctorum!!!  Our Lord Of Compassion was not in a mood to stop. He moved unto them next, granting them the DARSHAN of their lives… and one could hear ecstatic hearts, drenched in Pure Love, chanting Jaikars of infinite gratitude, that reverberated Prasanthi in the rain-hit twilight.

The Lord Who penned the thematic value-oriented drama ‘Cheppinattu Chestara’ during His teen years, meaning ‘do i follow what i speak’, Who HimSelf followed His ‘own’ dictum, ‘Love All Serve All, Help Ever Hurt Never’, demonstrated it in action yet again, out in public, leaving the best of the lessons for the world around.

Offering gratitude at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet this morning, young vocalist from Kerala Ms. Kavya Ajit presented a soulfully vibrant Carnatic offering, serenading Bhagawan for over 45 minutes. She started off with ‘Siddhi Vinayakam…‘ and flowed on with ease, singing ‘Bho Shambho Siva Shambo Swayambho…’, ‘Janai Maa.. Sai Janani Maa...’, ‘Brova Barama…’, ‘Enna Thavam Seithinnai…Easwaramma...’, a touching number on the incomparable boon on Mother Easwaramma… to name a few. She was accompanied by Sarvasree Anantakrishnan, Trichur Harinarayanan and Vellineri Ramesh on violin, mridangam and morsing respectively.

Hundreds of devotees from the state are participating in the three-day this golden jubilee Prasanthi Onam this year. Onappookkalam, typical, colourful, artistic floral decoration on the floor, right in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum stood as a symbol of auspiciousness in the decorative morning.

Devotion is developing friendship with God practising Trikaranasuddhi, unity in thought, word and deed exhorted Bhagawan in His Divine discourse, played on the public address system in the function held in the evening. Enlisting the nine-modes of devotion, Bhagawan hailed Emperor Mahabali for his all out surrender that turns out to be the finest instance for Atma Nivedanam, Self Surrender.

Sri TV Hariharan from the first batch of  Sri Sathya Sai University (SSSIHL now) along with Sri Ramesh Sadashiva, Bhajan coordinator and Carnatic vocalist from Kerala, then presented a soulful devotional evening next singing paeans at Bhagawan’ Lotus Feet. Ramesh Sadadhiva’s own composition in Malayalam on the greater good fortune of celebrating ‘Onam With Swami’, ‘Swamiyodoppame Onam…’  turned out to be the pick, heartening hearts and souls many in the august assembly.

The presentation as the title suggests is the story of Bhagawan’s Sri Krishna’s Avataric sojourn on earth. Commencing with King Kamsa officiating the marriage of his sister Devaki with Vasudeva, the storyline flowed on with snippets showcasing Kamsa attempting to foil the Divine Party after hearing the Divine prophecy, His epochal Advent in the jail and subsequent Divine drama transporting the Little Divine to ‘safety’ to Mother Yasoda in the thick dark night winning over oddities galore, Little Divine’s pranks with the Gopikas, The Rasaleela and so on, finally depicting The Lord reigning Supreme.

The evening turned out to be ‘Krishnamayam’, suffused with Krishna flavour, with the land that adores Him the most coming up with the apt theme, well supported by effective multimedia backdrop, glittering costumes, music and dance. Tiny tots from the Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas forayed the centre-stage, dancing to the tunes of Krishna numbers playing it out winning hearts many.

Earlier in the morning, noted Kathakali singer Kottakkal Madhu and fellow musicians presented a Kathakalipada Kacheri, a compilation of Kathakali numbers. Kathakalipadam is the musical side of Kerala’s traditional dance form Kathakali, that goes in tandem with the acting movements of the Kathakali artist. Streaming steadily at a slow pace, singing in tandem telling the story in vernacular Malayalam, escorting with rhythmic natural percussion, the art form it is a new musical experience for Prasanthi, well presented by the artist with the accompanying band. Along with numbers connoting Lord Krishna, Devi Mookambika, etc., Madhu’s morning list of songs had a couple of customised versions of Prasanthi Mandir bhajans too. This morning the artist was accompanied by Sarangh on vocal support, Ottappalam Hari on Chenda, Bharatarajan on Maddalam and Rakesh Kamath on Idakka, all typical Kerala percussion instruments.

Delivering his speech on the subject ‘Losing Ego & Holding On Tight Swami’s Lotus Feet’ on the occasion of Kerala’s 3-day Onam celebrations this evening, Sri Radhakrishnan Nair, through two distinct incidents in his life, lucidly explained the process of ego-eradication leading one to the ultimate goal of life.

When you surrender yourself without involving your mind, leaving the rest to Bhagawan, He takes over, said the speaker narrating a beautiful incident from the early eighties in Prasanthi Nilayam, wherein he along with his complete family members came in for His Divine Darshan. From nowhere, stranded clueless outside the gate, the whole family was taken most miraculously for a close Darshan. A heart-slash-thrash with a smiling face, without using a single weapon, that he received from Bhagawan in the early eighties, checking the personal inflated ego. Continuous process of ego-building and continuous process of ego-eradication is a game that one could play only with Bhagawan, said the speaker, narrating another incident involving a fatal accident that would have left him completely vegetative for the rest of his life, if it was not for the intervening Unseen Hands Of Bhagawan. Narrating the incident in detail, wherein he was saved most miraculously, much against the medical scientific theories,  the distinguished speaker shared with the audience the crux of wisdom that came by  that being, how, through such an earthly incident and the happenings aftermath, Bhagawan connected the dots in His inimitable style, enlightening his devotee of the coveted ‘Atma Ratna’ , ‘The Param Atma’ that is up for grabs. Keep continuing the work with utmost dedication and surrender to Swami, said the speaker wishing the congregation SaiRam and Happy Onam.

Sri Radhakrishnan Nair had earlier served as the Chief Justice of Hyderabad High Court for the twin states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, Chief Justice of Chhattisgarh High Court, etc. apart from decorating many coveted positions in the Indian Judiciary.

Earlier, God’s Own Country, Kerala commenced its Onam celebrations this morning marked by a Carnatic offering by upcoming vocalist Sri Vivek Moozhikkulam. Later in the evening students from Sri Sathya Sai Vidyapeeth at ‘Srisailam’, Koyilandi, Kozhikode presented a thematic dance drama entitled ‘Daksha Yagam’.

Presented in three segments, the programme today commenced with Sai Shatakam, offering adorations at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet through three dance presentations, a mix of Bharatnatyam, Kathak and Karma Nritya.

Years ago, during Young Little Divine, Sathya had penned an epochal play, Cheppinattu Chestara, meaning ‘Do I Follow What I Speak?’ which was power-packed with the holy intention of reforming the world to the path of Sathya and Dharma. Segment -2 of this evening presentation composed of a few skits of inspirations real-time stories from the administrative lives of some of the Balvikas pass-outs from the State, currently decorating the bureaucracy strictly following His dictum, ‘Work Is Worship; Duty Is God’.

The concluding segment featured the Balvikas Rally Song that was played in Bhagawan’s physical presence in 1975. The song was “Sai Sai Japte Chalo… Bholo Milkar SaiRam…”, an apt culmination for an elevating Parthi Yatra. Over 150 Balvikas children from 11 districts participated in the presentation.

Commencing its first session this evening in Prasanthi Nilayam, Sri Bharat Jawar, State President Of SSSSO spoke of some of the laudable Sai Mission initiatives in the State. Disseminating Bhagawan’s message of ‘Manasa Bhajare…’  along with the glory of the Vedas into the masses, planting saplings to counter global warming, telemedicine initiative, Sanathana Sarathi – Hindi edition from Indore, Balvikas activities were some of the highlights his speech.

Presenting its maiden offering next Sri Vivek Karmahe, an alumnus of Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music, presented a garland of well-woven devotionals at the Sanctum Sanctorum. An accomplished talent from the Gwalior Gharana, Vivek had in his repertoire this evening a string of devotionals composed of bandish, gheet and bhajans.

It was a ‘Home Coming’ for the young talent, with heart full of gratitude, serving ‘The Master’ back what he learnt at His Feet.  Baaje Re Muraliya Baaje…, he sung today, beseeching The Lord In Presence and with that The Lord in hearts many, serving a pure devotional audio treat in the august assembly. Picking up a special composition by his father, he sung next “Swami, Mein Naa Jeeyuu Bina Praan…” an ample testimony to the unmatched, incomparable physical Presence of Beloved Bhagawan. A Kabir vani next coupling the same with Bhagawan’s timeless message of Love All Serve All, Help Ever Hurt Never, Vivek concluded his offering with a final offering in Rag Bhairavi… singing “Itna Tho Karna Swami Jab Praan Tan Se Nikhle…” a fervent prayer to The Supreme, thematic of man’s final ‘fruitful’ journey.

This evening he was accompanied by Sarvasree S. Sairam on Tabla,  Suman on Guitar, Karthik Subramaniam on Keyboard, Sai Prasad on Tanpura.
