A Prasanthi Pilgrimage from Middle East and Gulf

A pilgrimage by the Region 94 of the Sai Organisation comprising the countries from Middle East and Gulf has enveloped Prasanthi Nilayam with Islamic Fervor. Devotees from Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey and United Arab Emirates, provided an Arabic flavour in Prasanthi Nilayam.The  Sai Kulwant hall in front of the stage is decorated with flags from all the participating nations. A crescent smiles atop the Sanctum Sanctorum.A large contingent of devotees in green scarves representing the colour of peace have been very active in Prasanthi Nilayam. Members of the group have joined the students for Morning Bhajans since July 7th. read more »

Pavitra Parthi Yatra by Devotees from Ranga Reddy District

Over 1100 devotees from Ranga Reddy District arrived on a two day Pavitra Parthi Yatra (sacred pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam) on 19 May 2012. They conducted a group prayer of  Lalita Sahasranama Parayanam on the 19th morning at 1100 hrs and a Satsangam (Spiritual gathering) at at 1445hrs were they listened to a renowned orator before discussing various topics.

At 1715hrs, the District President Sri Ramakuchel presented a report of the service activities of Ranga Reddy District at the Sai Kulwant hall in the Divine Presence. Starting the speech with gratitude of the memories of the Radha Krishna drama, they presented on 26th July 2009, he then enumerated the various activities by the organisation under the Village Integrated Programme, Agri Care, Socio Care, Medi Care and  Deena Jano Dharana Project. read more »

Buddha Purnima Celebrations

The mind precedes all (actions); the mind is the chief; all (actions) are mind-made. If a person speaks or acts with an impure mind, sorrow follows him… But if a person speaks or acts with a pure mind, happiness follows him even as a shadow that never leaves him.“, says Buddha in the opening verses of the Dhammapada. Love and Compassion is the theme of this year’s Buddha Purnima Celebrations in Prasanthi Nilayam attended by devotees from Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Hong Kong, Bhutan, Nepal, Thailand, Sri Lanka,  China, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore and Indonesia. Cultural Programme by AP Youth

Drawing inspiration from Bhagawan’s mammoth drinking water supply projects, a project catering to the drinking water supply across the state of AP titled ‘Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutha Dhaara‘ was conceptualised. This programme marked the dedication of the safe drinking water projects in 108 villages across the state of Andhra Pradesh at the Lotus Feet of Bhagawan in the form of pictorial and video presentations interspersed with song and dance. The project which stretched across 23 districts and mobilised 2000 volunteers helped provide safe drinking water and affected the lives of over a lakh people. read more »

Summer Course in SSSIHL, Brindavan Campus for Karnataka Youth

Day -1

Summer course on Indian culture and Spirituality at the Brindavan campus of Sri Sathya Institute of Higher Learning was inaugurated on 16th April, 2012 at 10 am, resonating with Vedic chants and soul stirring Bhajans. The event started by lighting of the lamps by Justice  Shivraj Patil, former Judge of Supreme Court of India, Prof. Shashidhara Prasad, Vice Chancellor of Sri Satya Institute of Higher Learning, Sri V. Srinivasan, All India President of Sri. Sathya Sai Seva Organization and Sri Sanjay Sahani, Director, Brindavan Campus, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Sri. Dhakkappa, State President of Karnataka, and Sri. Gangadhar Setty, Convenor, Sathya Sai Trust, Karnataka.

In his inaugural address Shri. V Srinivasan, said ‘Culture’ is a way of life. Bharathiya culture has survived for thousands of years and will continue to propagate all that is good in human existence. He noted that Bharathiya way of life include respect for elders, love, faith and tolerance. Bharath has taken in many races and religions into its fold. He said that the organization will attempt to collaborate with colleges and universities across the country to create awareness and share these core human values across the nation. Kerala’s harvest festival and New Year Vishu was celebrated with religious fervour in Bhagawan’s Divine Presence on 14th April 2012.  Joining the stream of devotees hundreds of youth from the state also participated in the celebrations this year. read more »

Tamil New Year Celebrations

It was a very special Tamil New Year in Prasanthi Nilayam. Hearing and speech impaired children from Vela School, Villipurum captured all hearts  with a scintillating dance performance in the Divine Presence entitled, “Dikku Leni Vaariki Devude Gathi!“. The school is adopted by Alumni of Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning and the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Tamil Nadu.

The celebrations began early in the morning with auspicious music on the Nadaswaram. At 0800hrs, the Sundaram Bhajan group performed Veda Chanting and Bhajans in the Sai Kulwant Hall even as delicious sweets were distributed to the assembly. In the evening Professor Anil Kumar introduced the programme in English and Telugu after which the state president of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Tamil Nadu, Sri N. Ramani addressed the gathering in Tamil. read more »

Holi in Prasanthi Nilayam…

Holi, one of the most boisterous and colourful festival of India, often celebrated with pompous joy, zeal and enthusiasm all over India was celebrated in Prasanthi Nilayam with much devotional fervour attended by over 700 devotees from the states, Bihar and Jharkhand, on 8th and 9th of March 2012. read more »

Adilabad Parthi Yatra 2012

Over 1500  devotees from Adilabad arrived in Prasanthi Nilayam on 24th Feb. They held a massive procession this evening featuring folk dances, ritual rallies and effervescent fireworks throwing the temple town into a mood of gaiety and celebration.

On the evening of 25th, the pilgrims provided a unique vaudevillian show in Sai Kulwant Hall today including Dances, Burra Katha, Hari Katha, Poetry, Talks, Video Clippings and Songs. A small girl anthropomorphising Adilabad started the programme with a talk of gratitude followed by a dance to the tunes of ‘Sampoorna Avataram‘. read more »

Hyderabad Parthi Yatra Feb 2012

Over 1200 Youth and Children from Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, Sivam, Hyderabad made a spiritual pilgrimage to Sri Sathya Sai Divya Sannidhi, Prasanthi Nilayam. The delegates participated in the various Mandir activities and satsangs. The youth also organised a workshop on Sai Seva Projects in the region. A bouquet of various cultural presentations by the group lit up the evening sessions in Sai Kulwant hall on 18th and 19th Feb 2012. read more »
