Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini Soaring High…

Bhagawan’s pet project announced during the 85th Birthday celebrations, Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vahini that aims at integrating values in an innovative way into the school curriculum, got a big fillip today as its newly developed comprehensive web application was offered at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet this morning in Prasanthi Nilayam.

In a function organized at the Double Decker Auditorium adjacent to the Book Trust Building, the CEO & Managing Director, TCS Ltd., Sri N Chandrasekharan handed over the project to Sri K Chakravarthi, formerly Secretary and serving Trustee with Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.

Speaking on the occasion, Sri Chandrasekharan called it a ‘great blessing’, recalling the day when the Chief of the Tata Empire Sri Ratan Tata had asked him to look into the possibilities of the project. Reassuring TCS’s continuous support to the Vidya Vahini project, Sri Chandrasekharan reminded his team that they have a very important task ahead as TCS has a duty to look into the feasibility of the web application, ensuring that the same is convenient and useful even in the remotest part of the country, helping even a teacher who is not an adept in using such technology.

How to use technology to teach changeless values, asked Sri Chakravarthi deliberating on the project. Values are taught and caught; teachers are to teach and it is the duty of the student to catch the teachings in the right spirit. Echoing Sri Chandrasekharan’s views about the daunting task ahead in ensuring feasibility of the project, Sri Chakravarthi also stressed on the importance of ensuring that the last man at the remotest part of the country should be made comfortable in using the technology.

Paying gratitude to Team TCS, Sri Chandrasekharan, Dr Santosh Mohanty, Global Head, Business Intelligence at TCS and couple of others were felicitated by Sri Chakravarthi on behalf of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Active members from Team Vidya Vahini were also felicitated on the occasion.

Giving a ringside view of the entire project, Dr Mohanty called the project a continuous journey, where many milestones have been achieved and many more milestones are going to come  in future; we are moving in the right direction, concluded  Dr Mohanty, thanking Team Vidya Vahini and his own team mates for their dedicated support.

Ms Vishnupriya Sharma, a livewire of the Project, who rallied together the entire team on the project front, meeting timely requirement from Team TCS, spoke next, giving a glimpse of passion the team has imbibed for the project. Beginning with a mention of the tips received from Bhagawan Himself as to how to go ahead as a united team, Ms Vishnupriya listed out various steps and levels of efforts taken in various areas related to the project, especially in introducing and adopting technology in various schools in a planned and systematic way.

Next to come was a guided tour demo of the project, done effectively by Sri Hariharan from Team Vidya Vahini.

Earlier, the programme commenced with an introductory speech by Sri Satyajith, who is leading the project from Prasanthi Nilayam. Welcoming the dignitaries, senior officials and all assembled on the occasion, Sri Satyajith briefed the evolution of the project from the time of its inception, as willed and blessed by Bhagawan. How Bhagawan, the Prime Force behind the project, instilled the much needed confidence in him during the days of inception, with His most simplistic practical approach was also lucidly narrated by Sri Satyajith.

The one and a half an hour session ended with Mangala Arathi to Beloved Bhagawan.
