Sai students bring laurels to their Alma Mater, Sathya Sai Institute Of Higher Learning and thus to Bhagawan. Sohan Datta, an alumnus of the Department of Management Studies, SSSIHL (MBA 2010-2012 batch), Prasanthi Nilayam Campus has been selected to be among the final 28 finalists of the Economic Times Young Leaders Programme. Starting from an initial applicant pool of 17000, the 29 year old alumnus of the SSSIHL, a product of the Sathya Sai System of Integral Education, reached the finals after a series of interviews culminating in a final face to face interview with leading Industrial and Business Tycoons of India.

Besides Sohan Datta, two other alumni of SSSIHL – Hemant Changkakoty and Shivkumar Kannan, both from the MBA 2010-12 batch had also reached the semifinals of this Young Leaders Programme of Economic Times.

This prestigious Top Young Leadership is attained at the end of assessments across four phases. Phase 1 consisted of an online personality based evaluation. Phase 2 consisted of a detailed quantitative and qualitative assessment. Phase 3 comprised of on ground assessments where the candidates were tested for leadership competencies through case studies. Only 78 men and women made it to the next stage where each was interviewed by one of ET’s panel of nine top CEOs.

The Economic Times Young Leaders Programme is a platform for recognizing and rewarding India’s most promising young managers. This initiative is meant to encourage, identify and nurture promising future business leaders of India Inc.

The ET Young Leaders is for corporate executives between the age of 26 and 32 years, who are not only at the cusp of entering the leadership cadre within their organizations, but also those who are looking to improve their leadership quotient.

Prior to joining his MBA programme, Sohan completed his MSc. (Physics) programme at the Institute and thereafter worked for a brief period in the industry. He is currently working as Assistant Project Manager of Abiba Systems.
