Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha – Day 3

Today, in the third evening of the Prasanthi Vidwan Mahasabha, erudite scholar from Tenali, Guntur district, Dr Nori Surya Narayana Murthy delivered a Telugu speech at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet, in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Dr Murthy, a familiar face during the Vidwan Mahasabha, spoke on Pothana Bhagavatam, narrating the story of Lord Vishnu’s Vamana Avatar and allied stories of glory of God.

Lucidly relating the account recalling the story beginning with Kashyapa Prajapathi and his consort Adithi and the birth of Lord Vamana, Dr Murthy regaled the audience for the next one hour, speaking in chaste Telugu, spicing up his oratory with occasional mix of mimicking and mono-acting, raising the imaginative mood of the audience. To the greater delight of the audience, Dr Murthy also brought in the reference to Sri Sathya Sai Avatar and His ‘own’ Prasanthi Nilayam, highlighting potential similarities. For the august audience, it turned out to be sheer bliss of Satsangh in the immediate Divine omnipresence.

Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, aired in the public address system.

Earlier, the session commenced at 1640 hrs with Vedic incantation led by the students of Muddenahalli Campus of SSSIHL. A brief introduction of the ensuing session followed next.

Bhajans followed next and the programme ended with Mangala Arathi at 1825 hrs.
