10th World Conference SSIO – Day 2

The second day of the 10th World Conference began with devotional songs and a soulful rendition of the theme song, Love is the source, path and goal. In his keynote address, Dr. William Harvey, member of the Prasanthi Council, reminded delegates of the immense power of Bhagawan’s Name and stressed that the Sathya Sai Centres should represent the universality of Baba’s teachings.

Four speakers shared their individual stories of transformation. Ms. Kayoko Hira from Japan spoke candidly about how Bhagawan, the fountainhead of love, transformed her life. Ms. Raksha Mahtani from Spain shared inspiring stories from her experiences in teaching human values to young children.

Dr. Veeru Mudigonda from the U.K. spoke eloquently about how the journey of love begins with the gift of faith and exhorted everyone to follow the Master and His Divine commands. The last speaker, Mr. Sergio Espindola from Brazil, urged all spiritual aspirants to try to merge with God in this very life.

A ‘Question and Answer’ session with the members of the Prasanthi Council and the directors of the Sri Sathya Sai World Foundation provided valuable insights and guidance on spiritual, practical, and organisational matters.

A short video clip of Bhagawan’s discourse reminded the delegates that there is no spiritual practice higher than selfless service. SSIO members from Brazil presented joyful Portuguese devotional songs and Russian devotees presented three skits on love and service.

In the afternoon, delegates attended two additional workshops, to allow for participation in a total of four workshop topics out of nine that were offered.
