Auspicious Vinayaka Chaturthi…

Ganapathi is called Vinayaka because there is no master above Him. He is all powerful and independent. Without recognizing the esoteric significance of the Vinayaka Principle, people look only at the external form and offer worship in mundane terms. - Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba

Today is auspicious Vinayaka Chaturthi, symbolising the birth of elephant-headed God, Lord Ganesha, Son of Divine Parents, Lord Shiva and Mother Parvathi. Ganesh Chaturthi is festival that received its fullest dues over the years in the most inspiring physical presence of Beloved Bhagawan. Keeping those golden lively memories in the backdrop, Prasanthi woke up this morning, tuned to the Lord of remover of all obstacles, gearing up to celebrate the auspicious day.

Celebrating the occasion this morning, students from SSSIHL offered a string of hymns propitiating Lord Ganesha here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. Singing paeans at the Lord, Who Is hailed as ‘Prathama Vandana’, the students regaled Bhagawan for over fifty minutes presenting soul-stirring numbers that included Ganashtakam, Ganesha Pancharatna Strotram, Modakashtakam, Sri Ganesha Sivuni Kumara…etc.  Adding fervour, higher secondary and primary school students came up with scintillating dances, singing to popular Ganesha numbers. Bhagawan’s Divine discourse on the Ganesha principle next was followed by Bhajans and Mangala Arathi.
