Wednesday, November 22nd, 2017
Carrying forward the teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is the highest service to Bhagawan, observed the Hon’ble Vice President Of India, Sri M. Venkaiah Naidu.
The Vice President was in the holy township this afternoon to inaugurate the state-of-the-art Sri Sathya Sai Archives meant for scientific preservation of precious, priceless memorabilia related to His epochal Story. A man with great humility and sense of humour, the Vice President expressed great joy in being in the holy township on the eve of His ‘birthday’. ‘Having the glimpse of devotees is having darshan of Sathya Sai Baba’, said the President, expressing his joy at seeing the congregation in the Sai Kulwant Hall.
Highlighting on Bhagawan’s Love and Affection for one and all, recounting His message that ‘We Are All One’, the Vice President exhorted the august assembly to be engaged in the service of mankind. Hailing Bhagawan for His astounding ‘transforming’ role, Sri Venkaiah Naidu recollected as to how Puttaparthi has become a global spiritual retreat today, providing education, water and healthcare, thereby motivating the people across the country and the world around. He also shared with the audience as to how he himself was transformed during his first visit to Prasanthi Nilayam. Prior to his maiden visit he was not a devotee and when he came to Bhagawan for the first time, he was deeply touched and transformed seeing the epochal, life-changing educational mission of Bhagawan, and thus the transformation, recollected the Vice President.
Recapitulating Bhagawan’s teachings in snippets with great reverence and admiration, hailing the Sri Sathya Sai Mission for its global reach, the Vice President, before closing, urged the audience to take Bhagawan’s message across, passing the same on to others.
Member Trustee Sri S.S. Naganand delivered vote of thanks to the honourable dignitary.
Earlier, the Vice President inaugurated the state-of-the-art Sri Sathya Sai Archives inside the Prasanthi Nilayam precincts. The archive project is aimed at scientifically preserving precious, priceless memorabilia related to His epochal Story. The Vice President lauded the pious responsibility taken up by the Trust to make this project a reality that would help thousands upon thousands who were not fortunate enough to have His physical darshan. History is written, but Sathya Sai has created History, observed the Vice President, complementing the noble task by the Trust to pass on the memorabilia of His legacy for the benefit of the world.
Back to Sai Kulwant Hall, the final offering in the evening was the annual convocation drama, entitled ‘Sankeertana Saaram’ (The Soul Of Singing). Presenting the story of a team of musicians (Bhajana Sankeertana Samithi) involved in devotional singing, the drama serves a pointer to prove that when one is involved in absolutely surrendered devotional worship, He HimSelf manifests to prove the devotee right, taking his care through and through, completely.
Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
