Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas @ 50

Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas, the Sri Sathya Sai initiative for blossoming children, is at 50 this year. Commemorating the occasion, the 9th All India Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas Meet and 6th Annual Convention of Group III students and alumni of SSSBV is being held in the immediate Divine OmniPresence in Prasanthi Nilayam. The two-day programme on 5th and 6th of January is scheduled to have elaborate sessions decorated with speeches, cultural programmes and convocation ceremony.

The morning commenced with a rhythmic invocation, by the Brass Band of Sri Sathya Sai Vidya Vihar, Visakhapatanam. A video presentation on the legend of Balvikas next was followed by a musical offering by the Balvikas, Telangana on the theme “Connecting Lights The Sai Way”.

Dr. (Ms). Dalima Kalita, an alumnus of SSSBV from Guwahati, Assam then delivered the welcome address, recounting the telling influence the Balvikas had in her moulding years. The person I am today is a person evolved, through the teachings and preachings of Balvikas, declared Dalima, explaining how the Balvikas helps her even now, both in her personal and professional lives, leading a life of  values, following Bhagawan’s ideals.

Sai Sanskar Gitamala, a sequel to the first volume last year was released on the occasion, done by Chattisgarh wing of Balvikas. Scores of winners of Sri Sathya Sai Achievement Award were conferred  next with the trophies for excellence in multiple area of activities.

The ensuing session witnessed some of the state units taking honours, presenting thematic offerings, namely, a Garbah dance by Gujarat Balvikas and a musical rendition by the Karnataka wing of SSSBV.

Bhajans by the Balvikas children next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
