A Journey Down The Memory Lane by East Godavari Devotees…

A huge contingent of pilgrims from the Andhra district of East Godavari is on a two-day Parthi Yatra to sacrosanct Prasanthi Nilayam. The district unit of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisatons is organising back to back programmes today and tomorrow in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Commencing the programme series this evening Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas from EG took out an impressive rally, commemorative of the golden jubilee year of Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas. The rally was symbolic of the sacred culture and traditions of East Godavari, displaying ‘Godavari Mata’, The Five Elements and Nature, Saints of India, the Pandari Bhajans, prominent personalities, staunch devotees and village deities from the region to conclude with a display on the Unity Of Faiths. Bhagawan’s sacred biography speaks about  Pandari Bhajans, sacred devotional singing as promoted by young Sathya then, decades ago during His ‘moulding’ years, collecting His confidants in and around Parthi. Reliving the unmatched spirit of the innovative bhajan style, BV children showcased a couple of Pandari Bhajan models as part of the rally, dancing merrily to the tunes of Prasanthi Bhajans.

East Godavari has fondest memories of her Lord, Who during those ‘golden days’ moved through the district, blessing countless souls. A series of dance presentations next formed the theme of this unique unparalleled blessings. Prof. Jandyala Suman Babu’s lucid, detailed commentary in Telugu was enough to rekindle the ‘golden’ memories, transmuting the evening into an offering of Love n’  Gratitude. As the dancing stories flowed on, many prominent names featured this evening, that of Godavari Maa, the River who seems to cherish awaiting her Lord incessantly, Swami Karunyananda, Vedic Pundit Kamavadhani, Madhavananda Swami from the Himalayas, Veeraswami Naidu to name a few. Thousands from East Godavari joined the Yatra, travelling the distance to Puttaparthi, enjoining their hearts to tune to The Supreme Master, joining a unique journey down their memory lane, with Sri Sathya Sai, Unto Sri Sathya Sai. An attempt was made to describe ‘The Most Indescribable’  and they aptly concluded singing “Maa Swami Charanaluku Neeranjanam”, offering lighted lamps symbolic of their heart of love.

Bhajans by the Parthi Yatra contingent continued and the session concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.

Earlier in the morning, displaying gesture of devotional allegiance to Beloved Bhagawan, devotees en masse joined in a holy procession of circumambulation,  carrying the holy Sri Sathya Sai Likhita Japam books around the sacrosanct Prasanthi Mandir precincts.
