Radio Sai Celebrates The Anniversary Of ‘Non-Stop Bhajan Saga’

Commemorating the first anniversary of its dedicated YouTube Bhajan Channel, Radio Sai Global Harmony today presented a soulful musical evening on the essence of bhajan singing at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Prasanthi Nilayam. Radio Sai Bhajans Channel had its launch last year in March and has over 36000 subscribers, with a viewership of over 10 million around the world.

Sri Sundar Swaminathan, Director, Radio Sai Global Harmony, initiated the proceeding for the evening, speaking words of immense gratitude to Bhagawan for the successful non-stop bhajan yajna. Every day, every hour we are growing, said Sundar Swaminathan welcoming the august assembly into the enlightening session.

Commencing with a highlighted piece of the famed bhajan, ‘Narayana Bhaja Narayan…’, the bhajan that sums up the essence of Sai Bhajans, the session next, interspersed with beautiful commentary, composed of a well-knit collection of musical beauty, presented with devotional fervour. The Prasanthi Mandir Bhajan group, an integral part of the channel programme, was present in full strength along with Team Radio Sai, making the offering a true heartfelt dedication.

Knowing That You Are Our Inner Core, We Will March Ahead, chorused the graceful singers in the waning twilight, singing their clear-cut intend, ‘Bhadte Chalenge Hum’.  Rhythmically innovative, soulfully focused, the lady evening turned addictive to the heart-wrenching beauty of Sai Bhajans, filling and fulfilling hearts many present in the waning twilight. Along with the 85th ‘birthday’ theme song of Prema Pravaham, the evening numbers included ‘maula mere maula’ , a sufi number, ‘sai ke darbhar mein…’, a quawwali, taagare sri sai naamaamrutam, a telugu number to name a few, to concluded with the 95th ‘Birthday’ theme song, a scintillating “Samastha Lokah Sukhino Bhavantu”.

Truly, the bhajan ‘Narayana Bhaja Narayan…’ sums up the purport aptly singing, ‘…Bhajana Sey Mana Ko Sajana Banakar Bhakthi Marga Dikhaladiya… Sai Bhajana Sey Bhavasagar Ko Parana Bhi Sikhaladiya… Pathithodhari Parthi Vihari Sai Murari Narayan…’ meaning… Lord Sai Narayana Of Parthi, through the medium of bhajan singing, making the mind pure, showed us the path of devotion, teaching everyone to cross the worldly ocean of life. The evening truly reflected this high purpose, as resolved by The Lord Supreme! Sai Bhajan Saga for human ascension!

Sri Raghu Bhat from Radio Sai served as the emcee, master of ceremonies, for the evening, conducting the session with aplomb and elegance.

A FaceBook page, ‘Sri Sathya Sai Baba’, started in 2007 by a Denmark based Indian couple with a dedicated team of volunteers under the banner SBOI (Sai Baba Of India), was next dedicated to Bhagawan, henceforth to be run by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.
