Holy Kalasha Sthapana Ahead Of Dasara Jnana Saptaha Yajna

Prasanthi Nilayam witnessed the holy ritual of Kalasha Stapana this morning, marking the commencement of the sacred Devi Navarathri festival. The ritualistic session got off at 0630 hrs in the bhajan hall and continued for an hour, in the backdrop of vibratory Vedic chanting.

Kalasha Stapana, the installation of the Kalasha, has been a traditional function before the Dasara festivity in Prasanthi Nilayam, ever since the inception of the festivity decades ago.

This morning, before the commencement of the function, the sacred Kalasha was first taken to the Sanctum Sanctorum at the Sai Kulwant Hall for special blessings before being escorted to the bhajan hall for due rituals and installation.

The sanctified Kalasha will now be taken on a procession to the venue at Poornachandra Auditorium on the 9th of October, marking the commencement of the week-long Dasara Jnana Saptaha Yajna. Post the installation this morning, worship of the Kalasha continued with Kumkumarchana.

Regular Veda chanting and bhajans continued, and the session ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
