Sri Rama Navami in The Divine Presence…

Prasanthi Nilayam today celebrated Sri Rama Navami with a musical offering by the students of Sathya Sai Mirpuri College of Music. Sri Rama Navami marks the advent of Lord Sri Rama, and has been a traditional festival in the Prasanthi Calendar.

This morning’s musical offering entitled “Ram Gun Gaan”, Sing the glories of Lord Rama, consisted of special songs on Lord Rama, sung in both Hindustani and Carnatic. Some of the numbers were: Muche Darshan Deejho Prabhu Ram…, Sri Ramachandra Krupalu Bhajaman, Tumak Chalat Ramachandra…, Raghuvasma Sudha…, Paluke Bangaramayena, Rama Kodanda Rama…, followed by ‘Rama’ bhajans.

Mangala Arathi at 0930 hrs. marked the end of the morning proceedings. Special Prasadam – Panakam and Vadapappu – was served to devotees on the occasion, in the South Indian Canteen.

The evening session was marked by a speech by Sri Sai Surya Bharat, an MBA student at SSSIHL, Prasanthi Nilayam Campus. Speaking on the topic “Lessons From Ramayana For The Modern Day Man”, the young speaker, who had the rare fortune to grow under Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet, highlighted on the subtler aspects of the Epic that is having telling positive influence on the mind of man, even today. Deliberating on the lessons of ‘Namasmarana’, the inspiring speaker, speaking with crystal clarity in a flowing rhetoric, embellished his speech with some of the beautiful incidents from his student days, involving Bhagawan, sharing invaluable lessons. Sri Sai Surya ended his spirited talk, quoting Bhagawan that, When the road ends and the goal is gained, the pilgrim finds that he has travelled from himself to Himself and that the way was long and lonesome, but The Lord That led him unto It was all the while in him, above him, around him, beside him…

Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, aired on the public address system. Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
