Holy Ugadi Eve In Prasanthi Nilayam…

On the eve of the Telugu New Year, Ugadi, the Sai Youth of Bhagawan’s Abode in Hyderabad, Shivam, presented a musical bouquet this evening here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.Earlier, prior to the musical offering, the programme commenced with an insightful address by one of the distinguished jurists from the Sai Fraternity, Hon’ble Justice V. Ramasubramanian of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh High Court.
Touching an illustrious half-century under the Divine Umbrella of Sri Sathya Sai shortly, the Justice was introduced into the fold as a teenager of 9-10 years, having admitted into the first batch of Sri Sathya Sai Balvikas. Ever since it has been a journey with Sai, practising His teachings to the core.
This evening he began his speech touching some of the ‘unique firsts’ his family had with Sri Sathya Sai. Bhagawan, Who, first spoke of His Life as “His Life Is His Message” soon shifted over reminding His devotees to make their lives His Message, practising His dictum, reminded the speaker this evening stressing on the importance of transformation, narrating in brief as to how he along with family stood practising Him making their lives His Message.
Speaking on ‘Practising One’s Precepts’, the Justice explained, how, in a world of opposites and paradoxes, he could survive with distinguished flair following His dictums of ‘four-pillar’ values, despite being from a field that is antithetical to hardcore practices. Life is ever enjoyable, if one understands the minute nature of God’s creation, that is created in opposites and paradoxes.
Remembering the olden days of Prasanthi Nilayam with limited facilities, Justice Ramasubramanian, speaking on ‘sacrifice’, linked the same with the successive generation enjoying more amicable facilities, a gift from the sacrifice of the previous generation. It is a must for the current generation to remember the sacrifices of the previous generation.
Textual teachings and knowledge are aplenty, but not an ounce of practice, he lamented, exhorting the audience to raise to offer service to one and all, following Bhagwan’s guidelines.
Connecting to the New Year on the anvil, the justice identified a pledge for the devotees that being, ‘Hands That Serve Are Holier Than The Lips That Pray’.
Bringing snippets of His golden voice as interludes, in the form of discourses and padyams (introductory ‘prelude’ poems), the session that followed next turned out to be exhilaratingly vibrant musical session sprinkling compositions in Telugu, describing and illustrating Him and His Teachings. Titled as “Twameva Sharanam Mama”, the 70 minutes session witnessed was rare compilation Telugu compositions, thematically arranged, divulging Bhagawan’s teachings en masse.
