Bharatiya Samskruti Atma Samskruti

Mother India’s patriotic refrain ‘Vande Mataram’ resounded in Prasanthi Nilayam this evening when the II Year Post Graduate students presented a patriotic drama entitled Bharatiya Samskruti Atma Samskruti on the occasion of 66th National Independence Day here in Prasanthi Nilayam. The 85 minute presentation in 12 episodes was based on the theme, as the title goes, ‘Freedom Of The Soul’ as the key for real freedom, as preached by legendary Swami Vivekananda.

Depicting the story of a lawyer, arguing on behalf of a ‘guilty’ Chairman of Allied Chemicals that caused homicide of innocent civilians, the presentation takes the audience through various episodes, illustrating anecdotes from India’s illustrious struggle, finally concluding on a high note, showing the transformation of the otherwise unethical, unrighteous lawyer into a man of great self dignity firmly reposed in Soul Culture, thanks to Swami Vivekananda’s influence upon him. Concluding the presentation Vivekananda’s voice echoed affirming that the transformed lawyer is not the single case, but there are countless such souls that took inspiration from this highest ‘soul’ principle that finally helped India in her Independence struggle.

The presentation concluded with a group song, that echoed religious harmony. Interestingly, the curtain was drawn depicting various posters of the key legendary characters contributed to the freedom struggle, namely, Subhash Chandra Bose, Mahatma Gandhi, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Bhagat Singh, presented uniquely like filling a picture puzzle, pasting them on the wide backdrop, that when finished portrayed a beaming Bhagawan.

Bhajans continued and prasadam was distributed to the entire assembly. The session concluded with Mangala Arathi at 1845 hrs.
