Summer Course in SSSIHL, Brindavan Campus for Karnataka Youth

Day -1

Summer course on Indian culture and Spirituality at the Brindavan campus of Sri Sathya Institute of Higher Learning was inaugurated on 16th April, 2012 at 10 am, resonating with Vedic chants and soul stirring Bhajans. The event started by lighting of the lamps by Justice  Shivraj Patil, former Judge of Supreme Court of India, Prof. Shashidhara Prasad, Vice Chancellor of Sri Satya Institute of Higher Learning, Sri V. Srinivasan, All India President of Sri. Sathya Sai Seva Organization and Sri Sanjay Sahani, Director, Brindavan Campus, Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning. Sri. Dhakkappa, State President of Karnataka, and Sri. Gangadhar Setty, Convenor, Sathya Sai Trust, Karnataka.

In his inaugural address Shri. V Srinivasan, said ‘Culture’ is a way of life. Bharathiya culture has survived for thousands of years and will continue to propagate all that is good in human existence. He noted that Bharathiya way of life include respect for elders, love, faith and tolerance. Bharath has taken in many races and religions into its fold. He said that the organization will attempt to collaborate with colleges and universities across the country to create awareness and share these core human values across the nation. Inauguration of Radio Sai Recording Studio at Tirupati

Radiosai is a medium blessed by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, to uplift human values in the society. This radio service was started  in the year 2001, on the occasion of Baba’s 76th birthday celebrations. Initially, this service was made available on the World Space satellite radio as a free channel. As the years went on, the response that it had from thousands of devotees from across the globe, immensely inspired the Radiosai team. And eventually, with the blessings of Bhagawan Baba, Radiosai extended its broadcasting services through the internet also.

Radiosai today, has 6 different streams – Asia, Africa, Ameri, Discourse, Bhajan and Telugu,  that offer a variety of programs that bring out the message of pure love given by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, to the entire humanity. All India Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Group III and Alumni Convention

A convention for the all  India  Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Group III and Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas Alumni was held in Prasanthi Nilayam on the 7th and 8th of Jan 2012. Over two thousand Balvikas Children, Alumni and Gurus from across India assembled here for the meet. The programme commenced on 7th morning at 1030hrs at Poornachandra Hall, Prasanthi Nilayam with the lighting of the lamp by Dr. Keki Mistry, Trustee, Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Maharashtra. He was accompanied on the stage by Sri S. V. Giri, Sri Sanjay Sahani and Sri Nimish Pandya.  Sri R J Ratnakar was also present at the function. read more »

Onam 2011

Onam, the prime Kerala festival that marks the homecoming of legendary king of yore, Emperor Mahabali was celebrated in Prasanthi with much devotional fervour attended by a miniscule of Kerala along with devotees from other parts of the world.

With the state of Kerala celebrating its most colourful festival Onam, with gaiety and fervour commemorating mythical past, peace and equanimity as practised by its erstwhile Emperor Mahabali, a miniscule of Kerala camping in Prasanthi celebrated the festivity commemorating the golden past of Onam in the immediate Divine presence.

Thanksgiving by Alumni

The North American premabandham which evolved into a Global premabandham was planned as an occasion for all alumni to come together and re-evaluate their way forward as a community. The meet took place on 30th and 31st of July. As per tradition, the alumni meet started with a service camp in Puttaparthi. The Registrar addressed the Alumni at the institute auditorium.

Sri Sathya Sai International Orthopaedics Conference on pelvis and lower extremity trauma

Jul 22 – 24: The Sri Sathya Sai International Orthopaedics Conference on pelvis and lower extremity trauma began at the Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Medical Sciences (SSSIHMS), Prasanthigram on July 22.

Highly reputed leaders and teachers in trauma surgery participated in the conference as faculty which was attended by delegates from India and abroad.

Guru Purnima Eve 2011

Morning Programme
As part of Guru Purnima celebrations, a series of programmes were held at Prasanthi Nilayam. The Sri Sathya Sai World Youth Conference on the lofty topic “Ideal Sai Leadership” was conducted in Poornachandra Auditorium on 13th and 14th July 2011.

As a curtain raiser to the Guru Purnima festival, on the morning of 14th July, the programme commenced with Veda chanting at 8.00 a.m. Sai Kulwant Hall was filled to capacity. The Hall was tastefully decorated with Chinese lanterns and buntings which added aesthetic value to the ambience. The altar with Bhagawan’s photographs was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers. Malladi brothers, Sriram Prasad and Sri Ravi Kumar, the famous Carnatic music duo enthralled the audience with their performance for the sixth time. read more »

DAY 3 (12th June 2011):

The proceedings of the third and final day of the summer course in Indian Culture and Spirituality began with Veda chanting from the Holy Scriptures by a group of staff and students of the Institute at 8.30 a.m. in the Poornachandra auditorium in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Summer Course in Indian Culture and Spirituality, A Report – Day 1

The Sri Sathya Sai Institute of Higher Learning organised a Summer Course on the theme of Indian Culture and Spirituality from the 10th June to 12th June 2011 at Prasanthi Nilayam. Students and staff from all the Campuses of the Institute participated in this programme.
