SSSIHMS, Whitefield turns 12…

Celebrating 12 years of service to humanity, Bhagawan’s ‘Bangalore Hospital’, second of  the twin Temples Of Healing instituted by Bhagawan as role model medical institutions, staff of SSSIHMS, Whitefield, Bangalore presented a programme commemorating priceless recollections of the institution’s memorable journey this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Twelve years ‘younger’, surging ahead with great spirit and enthusiasm, the hospital stands a s beacon light providing ‘Divine Health Insurance’ to millions, absolutely free of cost, standing tall as an ideal institution.

It was on 19 January 2001 that the hospital was dedicated to service of humanity by the Divine Hands, in presence of the then Prime Minister Of India, Sri Atal Behari Vajpayee.

Presenting a thematic offering “From Form To Formless”, this evening’s presentation was a mix of songs, speeches, Divine Discourse presented alongside a video documentary on the inception, evolution and way-ahead of the institution.

The programme commenced at 1700 hrs. with a welcome song by the girl students and staff, “Swagatham Suswagatham…”. Ashwin Venkateshwaran, one of the former students of Bhagawan, took over next, introducing the evening, inviting Dr Swarna Bharadwaj, Director at SSSIHMS, Whitefield to take over the proceedings.

Commenting about the often asked question, in pessimistic tone, concerning the running of the hospital in His physical absence, Dr Bharadwaj said, “we go on with the formless with vigorous energy…” Briefing some of the statistical highlights giving performance figures of various departments, Dr Bharadwaj then gave away Smt Easwaramma Gold Medal instituted by Bhagawan in the year 2010 to the winners. The winneers were Ms P Deepika,  student of the year and Ms. Archana Balaji, al-round achiever.

Speaking next, Dr Nandita Ghoshal, currently working as a pathologist, gave a ‘heartificial’ account of her experiences at the hospital. Began her career as a Blood Bank Officer, after passing out from country’s premier medical institution, AIIMS, Delhi…, Dr Nandita was always sceptical of her decision, but answer came quite subtly with open opportunities in career enhancement. Rich experience with the Neuro Dept, analysing Intra Operative Specimens, helped her to publish many papers on the subject, that subsequently won appreciation and recognition, said a grateful Nandita reminiscing the ‘unfolding magic’ by Bhagawan. As a person, naive she was at the time of her joining in the year 2002, knowing nothing about Bhagawan, her a decade-long journey was full of clearing of her sceptical mind, now seeing Sai as GOD.

Dr Srikanth Sola, who originally belonged to the world’s premier cardiac institution, Cleveland Clinic in the US, spoke next recounting the three questions Bhagawan would often ask….how are the patients, how are you and do you need anything??? At the end of his inspiring speech, touching upon the unique advantages the hospital claims to have, Srikanth answered the questions in the affirmative praying to Bhagawan for strength and skill to serve forever.

Continuing the proceedings, next, the Director Dr Swarna Bharadwaj administered the ‘Oath’ to the staff and students of the institute. The ‘Oath’ administered with staff and students presenting themselves standing up, was in line with the one the SSSIHL follows, and talks about promoting ‘Heart to Heart…and…Love to Love’ relationship with the patients above all considerations, in line with Bhagawan’s Teachings.

Songs followed, singing “Love For Bhagawan’…followed by Bhajans ended with Bhagawan’s Sunday Special “Prema Muditha…”  The session concluded with Mangala Arathi at 1830 hrs.
