Prema Dhara…

Pure Love leads one to the Ultimate Goal, Godhood, and Pure Love is Fearless…Changeless and Selfless, echoed the students from SSSIHL, quoting Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, presenting a beautiful dance drama presentation entitled “Preme Dhara” this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam.

The presentation by the 1st year postgraduate students was based on Bhagawan’s Divine Messages and portrayed some of the most celebrated devotees of in the history of mankind, namely, Goswami Tulsidas, Ravana, Bharata and Mother Kaikeyi…

Presented through four main episodes, the programme began with a conversation between Lord Hanuman and Devarishi Narada, on exalted devotion. Presenting the supreme devotion of Goswami Tulsidas, the author of ‘Ramacharitamanas’, illustrating an episode as to how Lord Rama Himself manifested along with Lakshmana to save the life of Tulsidas, the presentation continued with an interesting depiction of King Ravana, the king of Lanka, who exhibited unparalleled devotion to Lord Shiva. The famous episode of Ravana winning the ‘Atmalinga’ from the hands of Lord Shiva was depicted, portraying his unparalleled devotion.

Bharata, the most loyal servant of the Lord, as depicted in the epic Ramayana, who did a severe penance of unfliching ‘devotional’ waiting for the Lord, for 14 long years, ruling the Kingdom, as His servant was depicted next. Even as the 14 year period was coming to an end, Bharata turned a worried man, for want of some signal from Lord Rama about His imminent return as promised in the beginning of His exile.  When an old ascetic, came begging at his doorstep, started praising Bharata’s able administration, Bharata’s agony tunred into frustrating tears, and in the pain he called out His Lord, crying aloud.  The climax came when Lord Hanuman, who came in the guise of the ascetic beggar,  broke the great good news of Lord Rama’s Return.Bharat’s tears turned tears of jubilation, great celebration.

The scene next depicted Mother Kaikeyi’s devotion to Lord Rama. Full of grief filled with remorse, the Mother’s long-wait came to an end when she received her ‘darling’ with open arms, accepting all her ‘misadventures’, that inflicted great pain to the Lord and the entire kingdom.

The presentation concluded with Lord Hanuman and Devarishi Narada discussing Lord Rama’s Kaliyuga incarnation, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai. Pure Love leads one to Ultimate Goal and Pure Love is Fearless…Changeless and Selfless, declared Hanuman even as the scene shifted to a dancing scene of great rejoicement.

This evening’s presentation, the first one in the new academic year, marks the beginning ensuing celebrations next week, of Ashadi Ekadashi and Guru Purnima.

Bhajans continued and ended with Bhagawan singing Sunday Special, Rama Rama Rama Sita… Mangala Arathi was offered at 1815 hrs.
