Indian Classical Music continued its ‘Soul Dance’ serenading Sai at the Sanctum Sanctorum in Prasanthi Nilayam. Continuing from the morning’s “Pancharatna Aradhana”, noted violinist Ms Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi presented a ‘Violin Kutchery’ this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam as part of the one-day Sri Sathya Sai Aradhana Mahotsavam. Ms Vijayalakshmi is the daughter of illustrious Violin maestro Sri Lalgudi Jayaraman.
Beginning her Aradhana with a Ganesha ‘vocal’ Prarthana, ‘Vakratundamahakayam…’ the blessed artist with her familiar instrumantel tool produced some scintillating ragaas with interesting tonal variations, immersing the audience in the silent golden beauty of Violin Nadopasana. Some of the numbers for the evening were “Vathapi Ganapathim…” , “Nagumo Mu…” with a scintillating thillana insertion. Ms Vijayalakshmi ended her concert with a vocal bhajan, “Sai Bhajana Binaa Sukha Shanthi Nahi…”.
Ms Vijayalakshmi was accompanied by Sarvasree KV Prasad on Mridangam, Alathur T Rajaganesh on Kanjeera, Navaneet Sunder on Keyboard, Ms Sukanya on Tambura.
Bhajans continued and ended with Mangala Arathi at 1945 hrs.
