Sai Ram Iyer’s scintillating musical offering…

The AP-TS Parthi Yatra culminated this evening with a pleasant ‘magical’ surprise. Singer Sai Ram Iyer from Mumbai, an artist with an unusual blessing, who possesses an incredibly matching dual tone, made it to the artist’s dais this evening fulfilling his long-cherished dream of singing for Bhagawan in His ‘immediate’ Divine Presence. Shri Sai Ram Iyer has been in the Sai fold right from his childhood, a Balvikas student first then an active Sai Youth from Mumbai.

God Is All…the bestower of talent and talent itself. When one relies on Him, surrendering, leaving no trace of doer-ship, He does it with His touch, in His style. This evening when singer Sai Ram took the mike, he literally left the Prasanthi audience spellbound, singing with his ‘extra-rich’ dual tones. Rightly, Sai Ram Iyer dedicates this extraordinary flair to Bhagawan’s pure grace.

“I feel like the lost child who has come to Prasanthi for the first time,” responded Sai Ram with a childish smile, recalling his singing experience this evening.

Sai Ram began with “Janaki Jane…”, a Rama devotional with a Carnatic touch. He then continued with a duet, a Mira Bhajan, “Ram Ka Gun Gaan Kariye…” with his much appreciated tonal variations, followed by his next selection, a scintillating “Sathyam Sivam Sundaram…”. The spellbound audience with raised brows sat in disbelief, breaking into raptures.

Subsequently, this gifted artist included “Shyam Tere Bansi…”, a Mira Bhajan, “Iss Dharthi Pe…”, “Sai Nath Terey Hazaron Haath…”, “Saavariya…”, a customised Telugu number “Adhivo Alladhivo Prasanthi Nilayamu…”,  in his tuneful repertoire, thereon to end with a  stimulating “Narayan Narayan…” bhajan of Lord Viththala.

Earlier, the session had commenced with a speech by the State President of SSSSO – AP-TS, Sri S.G. Chellam, wherein, after offering gratitude at Bhagawan’s Lotus Feet for His perennial blessings, the State President lucidly explained the various ongoing service activities in the twin States.

Sri Gopikrishna Pidathala then introduced the guest artist for the evening. This evening, Sri Sai Ram was accompanied by Sarvasree Sathya Sai Bhaskar on Guitar, Vijay Srinivas on Tabla, Guru Prasad on Keyboard, Pramod on Flute and Vijay on Rhythm Pads.

Five diploma holders of the Rural Vocational Training Centre (RVTC) at CH – Pothepalli, West Godavari district were presented Electrical Kits this evening under the welfare scheme of the Organisation.

Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi at 1830 hrs.
