South Africa echoes the message “I Am I”…

On the sidelines of a week-long Parthi Yatra to Prasanthi Nilayam, devotees from the Rainbow nation of South Africa presented a socio-spiritual fantasy drama entitled “I AM I” this evening here in Prasanthi Nilayam. The presentation, using ‘witty-yet-realistic’ events from the present day ‘iPhone’ inflicted world, portrayed how man has sadly fallen prey to this modern revolution forfeiting his own identity, pointing to the need of the hour, finding out the Real ‘I’.

Civilization is no longer split into BC and AD, but is split into ‘Bi’ and ‘Ai’, announced a proud ‘I’, the protagonist, with whose evolution, from being smart to smarter and beyond, man has downgraded himself into a disgraced dependent of this technological fantasy.

How this modern technological fantasy can be best utilized…? Presenting the remorseful effect of the addiction, the presentation then moved to the second phase, showing the brighter picture, shifting the focus of attention to Prasanthi Nilayam.

The self-boasting, egotistic ‘i’ faced a real set back, when it failed to make it to the Sanctum Sanctorum at the hallowed Prasanthi Nilayam, as the ‘iron-gate’ there does not allow ‘smart phones’ in. The gate represents the gate of ‘viveka’, discrimination for man. Man should first and best find out his real ‘I’, the Inner Self, instead of being a victim to the ‘i’ of the smarter technological age. Once he is smarter, evolving effectively like the ‘iPhones’, he can convert this modern technology into a ‘Sai Phone’, as a delightful efficient companion in his earthly sojourn.

After their ‘soul search’ with the inner ‘I’, a delighted ‘Rainbow’ team then sang six gems of musical melody in adoration to Beloved Mother Sai. The songs in English, Zulu and Sanskrit were sung with great devotional passion, interspersed with beautiful commentary. Beginning with a ‘Jai Ganesha’ song, “Oh Lord Ganesha, Oh Lord Ganesha, Oh Lord Ganesha Come To Me…” the session flowed on with “Why Fear When I Am Here…”, “Oh Beloved Master Of The Universe…”, “We Are His Children Of His Blessings…” being some of them.

Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi at 1845 hrs.

The week-long Parthi Yatra was organised on the auspices of Sri Sathya Sai International Organisation Of South Africa.
