Onam Day – 3

Twin talks and a musical concert featured the day-3 evening of the Onam 2016 festivities in Prasanthi Nilayam today.

The session commenced at 1700 hrs, after half-an-hour Veda chanting by the Kerala contingent, with an address by Dr G Gopakumar, Vice Chancellor, Central University Of Kerala. Dr Gopakumar deliberated on the topic close to his heart, ‘Value Based Education’, sharing his rich experiences and perceptions in the  prestigious field for almost two decades.

Identifying ‘Spirituality’ being the uniting factor of India, Dr Gopakumar highlighted on India’s greater role in bringing the world back to the track, speaking, how the world today is inflicted by the demoralising valueless life style. ‘Education should play the big catalyst to bring the much needed change’, said Sri Gopakumar, touching upon the vast expanse of Value Base Education and its indisputable influence today. Spiritual Capital of Prasanthi Nilayam will last forever, averred the erudite speaker in his closing remarks, well received by a thunderous applause by an appreciative audience.

Sri Prayar Gopalakrishnan, President of the Travancore Devaswom Board, who spoke next on the topic ‘Spirituality That Surpasses Religions’ observed and identified the greater relevance and importance of Sathya Sai Darshan today. Speaking on Bhagawan, His ideals and teachings, with reference to that of Lord Sri Dharmasastha of the prestigious Hill Shrine Of Sabarimala, the speaker in his closing remarks, reminded the Sai devotees of the greater responsibilities on their shoulders in following the incomparable, flawless Sathya Sai Path.

A musical offering by Ms Ambili, a playback singer of fame in the seventies and eighties followed next. Some of the numbers for the evening included, Janaki Jaane…, Manasa Bhajare Guru Charanam, Bho Shambho Swayam Bho…, etc.

Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.

Earlier, on the sidelines of the Onam programmes, Sri Sanjay Sahani, Controller Of Examinations at SSSIHL addressed the Balvikas children, students and teachers, deliberating on the priceless value-based education system instituted by Bhagawan.
