Maha Poornahuthi Offered…

Prasanthi Nilayam’s relentless pursuit for universal peace and harmony as promoted by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai finds an annual ritual of supreme importance coinciding with the ten day Dasara festivity, the Veda Purusha Saptaha Jnana Yajna.

The Jnana Yajna that is marked as one of the dotted festivals of Prasnthi Nilayam ever since its inception way back in 1962 is one of the unique festivals with mysterious spiritual relevance, aiming at promoting world peace. This year’s Yajna that had its beginning on the 13th October concluded this morning with the offering of Maha Poornahuthi at the Poornachandra Auditorium, attended by a vast concourse of devotees.

The proceedings at the Yajna Vedhi commenced quite early this morning and continued beyond 0900 hrs. Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, played on the public address system. The final proceedings commenced soon with the rithwiks carrying the Poornahuti Samagri (paraphernalia related to the final function) arriving in a procession.

With the Yajna Purusha, Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai, taking the seat in His OmniPresent form presiding over the final session, the Maha Poornahuthi was offered to the Yajna fire shortly after 10, well escorted by full-throat Veda chanting.

Veteran of Veda Purusha Jnana Saptaha Yajna, who has been a regular face from the inception year 1962, Kandukoori Kondavadhani from Rajahmundry was then felicitated by senior officials from Prasanthi Nilayam. Even as bhajans began, priests along with Vedam boys dispersed into many groups for prokshanam, sprinkling sanctified water upon the large assembly of devotees. Prasadam was distributed to the entire assembly before Maha Mangala Arathi offering to Bhagawan.
