Gujarati New Year Celebrated…

Today is Gujarati New Year. Feasting the auspicious occasion in His immediate Divine OmniPresence, the state contingent of devotees presented an evening reminiscing Bhagawan’s priceless messages on the advent of New Year. Celebrating the occasion for the 16th year on the trot, a string of offerings followed beginning with a musical entitled “Tat Twam Asi” meaning “That Thou Art” by the youth girls. Students of Sri Sathya Sai School, Surat then presented a dance offering on the theme of  Shiva Tandava Strotram, a depiction of an agonised Ravana’s all-out attempt to appease an infuriated Lord Shiva. Ravana in his ever-limitless arrogance and egoism made an attempt to lift His Abode Kailash, transporting the same to his Lankan Kingdom and thus the story of Lord’s wrath.

Last but not the least was the final offering for this years’ Deepavali & New Year celebrations, a musical offering by a promising Raghav Dave, an upcoming musical talent from the state.  Titled Ab Na Mohe Hari Milan Bina… Raghav’s evening repertoire had a string of devotionals, including the title song Ab Na Mohe Hari Milan Bina…, Sai Parameshwar…Sai Karuneshwar…, a Gujarati number in line with the eternal message of “Tat Twam Asi”, Log Kehte Ajnabi TumHo…,  a ghazal, Lago Mero Yaar Fakiri… to end with Sada Bhajo Sai Rama Sai Binaa Nahi Koyi Apna…

This evening Raghav was accompanied by his younger brother Master Vasisht Dave on tabla, Sarvasree Devang Pandya and Prateik Panchal on percussion and  keyboard respectively. Raghav had performed in Prasanthi Nilayam twice earlier, in 2009 and 2015, as an accompanist to his parents when the blessed couple were blessed to serenade Bhagawan.

Earlier, the session commenced with a brief speech by the erstwhile president of SSSSO-Gujarat, Sri Manohar Trikarnad, who enlisted the number of activities being taken up by the state unit.

Bhajans next ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
