Prasanthi Vidhwan MahaSabha – Day 2

Day-2 proceedings of the Prasanthi Vidhwan MahaSabha commenced this evening at 1640 hrs with invocatory Vedam by the students from Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, Prasanthi Nilayam.

Miss Sai Kiran M, Doctoral Research Scholar from the Anantapur Campus,  was the Master Of Ceremonies for the evening. Best way to experience The Divine is to be Divine, by embracing Divinely qualities, she said introducing the ensuing session, stressing on the importance of purificatory ‘rites’ on the part of the devotee, realising his true nature.

The speaker for the evening was Dr. (Miss) TR Rajeshwari, Associate Professor and Warden, Anantapur Campus of SSSIHL.  Focusing her talk on the Innate Force, the Infinite-Resource called Supreme Consciousness that presents man his aliveness and agility, the speaker observed the need to make use of festivities like Devi Navaratri to eschew the old and unwanted knowledge, embracing the fresh, allowing one to celebrate the Source within. Focus on the Creator and not on the creation, stressed the speaker, cautioning the students not to succumb to the power, but to the PowerFul.

Pure Love attracts not to mislead, but to reconstruct, empowering the devotees. Bhagawan has come to take us back to the Source. With the merger in The Divine, the river ceases to exist, but the process of merger is bit scary, she explained citing a few interesting examples. When the Divine attracts with Pure Love, the individual as well should attract the Divine with virtues. How the Mother In The Divine touches our hearts listening to our sincere prayers, how He goes to the limitless extent responding to our prayers, only to lift us up in our journey back unto Him, Dr Rajeshwari narrated beautifully with some of the most touching experiences in the very same hall.  Mother Sai has been waiting for long, and it is for us to acquire the virtues and merge back unto Him. “I Am I”, the Self inside and the Self outside are one and the same, concluded the speaker, expressing the collective readiness of each devotee, beseeching Him to guide Him.

Bhagawan’s Divine discourse followed next, played on the public address system. Bhagawan explained in detail as to what entails the Niyama part of Ashtanga Yoga. Only by observing Yama -Niyama in the prescribed manner, can one attain the Purusharthas, the four goals prescribed for man. Students of today do not follow the same and that is why the heart of present day students are dirty, observed Bhagawan, exhorting them to keep their hearts clean.

A musical offering by the Anantapur campus was the final offering for the evening. Titled ‘Sree Rama Laalityam’, the offering commenced with a rendering of the sacred Sri Durga Apadudharaka Stotram and flowed on with ‘Raghavam Karunakaram Bhayanashakam Duritapaham…’, ‘Mero Man Ram Hi Ram Rate Rey…’ a Mira bhajan, ‘Ranjani MruduPankajalochani…’, a Carnatic number set to Ragam Ragamalika, Adi talam, Sri Rama Parandhama…, hailing The Eternal Purusha, to conclude with ‘Rama Namacha Mahima…’, a Marati number on the glory of His Name.

Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
