Festival Of Colours, Holi, in Prasanthi Nilayam…

Holi, one of the most boisterous and colourful festivals of India, is being celebrated in the immediate Divine OmniPresence here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. Over 500 devotees from the twin States of Bihar and Jharkhand are participating the festivity spanning two days, today and tomorrow. The festival that marks the beginning of spring season every year falls on the full moon day of the Hindu calendar Phalgum. Holi has been a festive feast in the Prasanthi festive calendar ever since Bhagawan’s Divine Consent in 2005.

Commencing the first day’s proceedings, ‘Father and Daughters team’ of Mrs  Jyotsna, Kum Suvarna and Sri Ravi Kumar presented a Musical Offering comprising of popular devotional gems in Telugu and Hindi.

Beginning the concert with a special Kanipakkam Maha Ganapathi offering , the session flowed on with a Meera bhajan followed by “SaiNatha Bhagawan…”, “Ram Charan Sukhdai…”, an Annamacharya Keertan hailing Lord Venkateshwara, “Tuu Pyaar Ka Saagar Hey…”, “Sai Divya Roopam..”, “Jai Raghunandan Jai Sita Ram…”, “Jaago Mohan Pyaare…”, “Sai Baba Bolo… Sai Baba Bolo…” to end up with a concluding ‘Holi’ number.

Sarvasree Sapan Tiwari on the Keyboard, Sudhipto Banerjee on the Tabla, Ashok Das on the Flute, Pradeep Swain on the Dholak, Raju Singh on the Octopad and Saurav Banerjee on the Harmonium accompanied the artistes in the colourful evening.

Bhajans by the State troupe continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi at 1900 hrs.
