Happy New Year Morning…

Man, in his journey from self To Self,  passes through the phase of time often limiting himself to the dictates of God Of Time, only to grow and go beyond the limitation. …And quite often, during this journey, he finds himself in joyful rejoicing, celebrating life and events from dawn to dusk… that begins from the dawn of the ‘New’ year.

This morning, as the Sun rose heralding the arrival of yet another ‘New’ year, Year 2017, Prasanthi Nilayam had enough of nostalgic tales of such golden dawns in the immediate physical presence of the AllMighty. Rejoicing and reminiscing the grant occasion, this morning, as the session commenced at the Sanctum Sanctorum at 0800 hrs, the University Band at Prasanthi Nilayam, under the name, Rhythmic Energy, with an added tagline, One Band, One Sound, produced a scintillating ‘Band-Beat’, presenting an assortment of selected numbers that included the famed ‘Love Story’, ‘The Serenade’, along with some other numbers including a couple of bhajan numbers. It was an electrifying session, raising the collective mood upbeat.

Sri Vijay Bhaskar, an alumnus and a Member of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust addressed the august assembly next, presenting an interesting thesis on Swami and His unmatched love. “It would be a travesty of justice if we do not follow Swami’s injunctions”, said the speaker exhorting fellow alumni and devotees in general to follow Bhagawan’s FootSteps practising ideal life. Hailing Bhagawan as the Master Punner, the speaker reminded the students fraternity to be ideal properties, ensuring themselves to be Proper-Ties. One can be that only by doing one’s duty, following His teachings diligently,  reminded Sri Vijay Bhaskar. Recounting his close association with Bhagawan for over two-and-a-half decade, Sri Vijay Bhaskar identified the needed characteristics of students of Bhagawan, be them the alumni of His educational institutions or from the vast expanse of devotees, that being, Self-Confidence, Humility, Selfless Service, Steely Resolve and Determination, etc. For the vast number of alumni and the devotees in general, the session turned out to be a rich experience of practical wisdom suffused with deep devotional sense of gratitude.

Bhajans continued and the session ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan at 10:00 hrs.

Earlier, at 0800 hrs, when the session commenced at the Sanctum Sanctorum, a group of 62 ‘Pada Yatriks’ from Chennai, under the banner ‘Pavithra Pada Yatra’ entered the Prasanthi precincts, marking the culmination of a 9-day Yatra on foot, covering a distance of 375 kms. The group that was flagged off on the 22nd December from Sundaram, Chennai, had multifarious service activities enroute, taking His message of Love across to the masses.
