An Enlivening Dance Evening by Maharashtra & Goa…

A procession by the Sai Youth of Maharashtra & Goa, to a backdrop song of assurance and faith, “Sai Apne Saath Hey… Darne Ki Kya Bath Hey…” meaning Why Fear When Sai Is With Us… marked the 3-day long Ashadi Ekadashi programme by the twin states this evening here, in Prasanthi Nilayam.

Showcasing exuberant enthusiasm and dedication of the Sai Youth fraternity, hundreds of men and women marched up to the Sanctum Sanctorum with folded hands, offering reverential salutations to the Supreme Divine.

Invoking the ‘IshtaDevata’ of the twin states, a ‘Jai Ganesh’ dance number based on Bharat Natyam followed next, bountifully appeasing the GanaPathi with rich attributes, that Divinity richly deserves.

An exhilarating dance session ensued next featured Ghode Modni first, a popular Goan harvest festival dance, followed by a series of lively, vibrant Maharashtrian dance forms. Entitled “LokDhara” the session showcased great artistry, agility and athleticism of the Youth alongside the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra. Dancing to the rhythmic synchronised rhapsody of varied instruments, namely Dhols and Drums, the session turned out to be an enlivening one, a virtual ‘Tal-Rudra’ offering at the Sanctum Sanctorum, with ‘The Rudra’ dancing in the hearts and minds of the packed evening assemblage.

The session continued with bhajans by the Maharashtra/Goa troupe and concluded with Mangala Arathi at 1800 hrs., not before a mellifluous bhajan by the Voice Divine, singing a captivating Rama Rama Rama Sita…
