Today is Durgashtami, the eighth day of the 10-day Dasara festivity, worshipping Goddess Durga. Following the Prasanthi tradition Ayudha Puja was held in the Sai Kulwant Hall at 10:00 hrs this morning in Prasanthi Nilayam, worshipping ‘Sai Vahan’, vehicles that had been blessed by Bhagawan’s touch, including the Golden Chariot.
Ayudha Puja is traditionally done on the eighth day of the Navaratri Festival. Customarily, implements used for livelihood are worshipped on this day, a symbolic affair reminding man of Supreme Divine grace. In Prasanthi, it has been customary to worship the vehicles used by Bhagawan during the occasion, a custom set by Bhagawan HimSelf decades ago. Trustees, senior office bearers, students and staff along with devotees attended the function.
Vedam and bhajans accompanied the function that ended with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
The Dasara Jnana Yajna Saptaha Yajnam has reached day-5 at the Poornachandra Auditorium.
