Devotional Musical Offering By Priyanka Barve Kulkarni…

Musical Duo from Pune, Maharashtra Mrs Priyanka Barve and Sarang Kulkarni  along with a accomplished team of musicians presented a soulful ‘all-marathi’ musical bouquet at Bhagawan’s Divine Lotus Feet on the auspicious Ashadi Eve today here, in Prasanthi Nilayam. The presentation was entitled Sai Swarajali.

The session commenced by a soulful rendition in the backdrop to the tune of Vasudaiva Kutumbakam…, setting the tone for a promising evening of musical feast as well for the 2-day Ashadi  festive gala.

Guruvanda first was followed by Vande Ganapatim… rendered by Ms Sanika Kulkarni. Taking the proceedings further Ms Priyanka expressed gratitude sensing and acknowledging the ‘magic’ she was experiencing in His Presence, presenting her first piece for the evening, her favourite abhanga  ’Sundar Te Dhyan’, singing unto the heart of Lord Sai Rama. Presenting the mesmerising Baje Muraliya Baje…next, the song that sings on the Pure Love Of Bhagawan Sri Krishna’s Flute,  Priyanka must have touched the deep strings and chords of the Lord’s Heart as well every single heart present in the hallowed hall. Sant Tukaram’s famous abhang   Bheti Laga Jeeva, Laagali Se Aaga. was the next by Priyanka before her husband, a virtuoso, son of Pt Rajan Kulkarni, famed Sarod Maestro, taking the reins for the next 15 minutes with spellbinding Sarod magic. Playing Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram… Sarang along with fellow musicians on Tabla and Mridangam played a scintillating Jugalbandhi, winning rapt attention from the packed house. Priyanka then presented one her specialised blessings, offering a Natya Sangeet piece, singing Khara To Prema Na Dhari…. Sanika Kulkarni then presented one of the Kabir bhajans, Hirana Samajha…All the colours have merged finally into One… my Vittala Panduranga, announced a grateful Priyanka presenting her final piece for the august evening, singing the famed Kishori Amonkar composition… Avagha Rang Ek Jhala…

An evening that based in the glory of The Divine, sung by Him through His chosen ones, and heard and regaled by Him through many of His chosen ones…in His very Abode at Sri Sathya Sai Prasanthi Nilayam.

Priyanka hails from a traditional and accomplished musical family belonging to the famed Pt Padmakar Barve and Malati Pandey Barve, her grandparents. Priyanka is an accomplished playback singer in Marati and is also busy with Natya Sangeet.

This evening she husband-wife duo was accompanied by Ms Sanika Kulkarni, sister of Sarang who also presented some of the specialised numbers, Sarang’s mother Smt Umatai Kulkarni on vocal support, Ashray Kulkarni on Tabla,  Abhinay Ravandhe on Harmonium,  Krishna Salunke on Pakhawaj and Aditya Gopte on Flute.

The twin states contingent conducted the regular Vedam recital for the evening. Bhajans by the twin states at the end concluded with Mangala Arathi to Bhagawan.
